Cadence Community Contribution

I'm trying to set a component to 'Do Not Populate' (DNP) for one of my design variants, but I want it to be populated in the others. What's the most reliable way to do this in Capture CIS? I've seen a few different methods and I'm not sure which is the best practice. Are there any specific settings or properties I should be using to ensure the change is reflected correctly in my BOM and the Allegro layout? Any tips on avoiding common mistakes would be a huge help!
